I am requesting your kind support in the forthcoming local elections.
 About me… I’ve lived in Fylde all mylife,Kirkham first, then Lytham St. Anne’s for the past 20 years. I’m 33,married and have a beautiful newborn daughter.
Some of you may remember me as your Kleeneze chap 15 years ago, but since then I’ve worked in the leisure industry at all levels managing fitness and leisure centres nationwide. For 12 years I have owned and managed the largest independent health club in Chorley and have enjoyed successes by winning UK Fitness Centre of the Year in 2010 and 2007 and UK King of Clubs at the National Club Mirror Awards (pictured).
I absolutely love living in St. Anne’s (hence why I’ve not moved to Chorley). I was devastated when the current Conservative administration decided to close our Swimming Pool and my passion for the town motivated me to spend 18 months in getting it re-opened again.
Unfortunately, my proposal was declined, and a more expensive proposition was chosen. The Council’s external auditors are investigating this matter, and a report is to be published shortly. I feel those at Fylde who evaluated my proposal did not fairly represent it to the Council, and this has resulted in a greater cost for taxpayers, and lack of transparency and fairness, discrimination and pre-determination.
I have seen at first hand over a period of 18 months how Council Officers and the current Conservative Cabinet system works. It’s completely undemocratic and all decisions are made by people with no background knowledge or experience in that field. The Conservatives’ complete lack of financial control, management, due diligence and common sense is my motivation for standing as a candidate.
VOTE for Richard Ellis as an Independent Candidate…
- I share a vision to work with other Independent candidates to restore democracy to Fylde, to avoid party politics, and to allow all councillors full involvement in all decisions affecting their electorate.
- I am NOT party political and will focus solely on meeting the needs of local people.I will conduct all business openly and debate in public with all councillors so they can contribute and vote in accordance with their beliefs, without party pressures or threats.
- I intend to restore democracy at Fylde at the earliest possible opportunity by getting rid of the existing Cabinet system and restore the committee system under which all 51 members will have full involvement in all decisions.
- I will insist that Fylde gets value for money for you!
- Whether it be pot holes, dog poop or what they decide to do next with the tip, I’ll aim to make sure that problems that concern you are dealt with and sorted out promptly.
- I will be working for you! I will not be told how I must vote by a party whip. I will vote in the best interests of you and the rest of the Fylde Borough. I will be your voice and I will not be afraid to speak up!
The time is right for a new, youthful, fresh approach. I am positive, forward- thinking and highly motivated to serve my community!
