Independent Candidate
Fylde Borough Council Elections
5 May 2011
My name is Paul Hodgson, I was born in the area and have lived locally all my life.
I work as an Aftersales Manager for a multi national company and am married with grown up children.
My wife and I are members of Kirkham & Fylde Rural Lions Club which is a voluntary organisation which raises funds for local schools, organisations, projects and senior citizens.
I became an independent councillor, because it enables me to support and fight for the people of the town and by not having to follow the “Party Line”, which in most cases does not represent the views of the majority of people who live in Kirkham.
I have been on Kirkham Town Council for the last twelve years and had the honour of representing Kirkham as Town Mayor.
If elected, my experience over the last 12 years will enable me to work with other councillors at Fylde to promote and look after the interests of the people of Kirkham first and foremost.
- To continue to keep Mill Street Car Park free of charge
- Support Rural Splash in keeping Kirkham Baths open
- To take back Kirkham parks and open spaces
- Supporting the Friends of the park on the improvements to the play areas and gardens
- To continue to help provide a Breast Screening Service in the rural Fylde
- To raise local concerns and keep you informed of council activities
- To work with Kirkham Business Group traders and residents to enhance Kirkham Town Centre
- To ensure Kirkham gets value for money from our council tax payments
