I am committed to doing my best for the town and borough. As an Independent councillor I am free to speak out for Kirkham without being held back by a party whip. Having lived in Kirkham for 42 years I know how neglected the town has been and am determined to work to remedy that. Having already spent 8 years on Fylde Borough Council in the past and having served on Kirkham Town Council I have the experience to make a difference.
My wife and I have two daughter and two grandchildren. As long standing Kirkham residents we know how important it was to keep open the swimming baths and to support and encourage the regeneration of Kirkham. I will continue working to see our high street improved and to stop the loss of small businesses.
The cabinet system now employed by the Conservative ruling group just does not work. Decision-making is left to a few people who probably know very little about Kirkham. This system must go. All councillors were democratically elected and should all be free to speak at any committee meeting.
